  • What is ELEC?

    Established in 1973‚ ELEC monitors the campaign financing of all elections in the State. Whether the election is for Governor or Mayor‚ member of the Legislature or a City Council‚ candidates and campaign organizations are required to file with the Commission contribution and expenditure reports.

September 4‚ 2003 link White Paper No. 16‚ A Resurgent Party System:  Repartyization Takes Hold.  The report examines recent financial activity of three major political party entities:  legislative leadership committees‚ state party committees‚ and county party committees.

March 3‚ 2003 link The Commission is proposing an amendment to its rules concerning lobbyists and legislative agents to clarify that‚ under certain conditions‚ the cost of a meal provided to an invited speaker at an event sponsored by a lobbying entity is not required to be reported as benefit passing.
