    Established in 1973‚ ELEC monitors the campaign financing of all elections in the State. Whether the election is for Governor or Mayor‚ member of the Legislature or a City Council‚ candidates and campaign organizations are required to file with the Commission contribution and expenditure reports.

October 18, 2002 link ELEC is proposing to amend its regulations to clarify the dates included in each reporting period, require reporting entities to maintain copies of reports that have been filed with the Commission, and permit unlimited contributions between candidates for the offices of county executive and County Commissioner in the same county.

August 20, 2002 link The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission announced today that it is proposing amendments to its rules concerning copying fees and release of documents.
